About

Virgobit and FH Münster University of Applied Sciences are collaborating to develop a mobile app for stress detection in healthcare workers. The app uses a wearable device to record heart-rate variability (HRV) and applies signal processing algorithms to calculate stress levels. It also incorporates subjective data through questionnaires to gather users' perceptions of stress. By analyzing both objective and subjective data, the app generates personalized recommendations for stress management. This innovative solution aims to improve the mental well-being of healthcare workers and promote a healthier work-life balance, addressing the challenges they face and contributing to a more resilient healthcare workforce.

    Goals

  • By analyzing HRV data as an objective measure of physiological stress and collecting subjective data through questionnaires to gauge users' perceptions of stress, the app aims to offer a holistic assessment of stress levels in healthcare workers.

    Problems

  • Encouraging healthcare workers to regularly use the app and provide subjective data through questionnaires may pose challenges in terms of user engagement and compliance.
  • Ensuring the app can provide tailored recommendations that are practical, effective, and suitable for each healthcare worker is a significant challenge.
